Planting seeds, watching them bloom
As a humanistic therapist, I like to think of healing and growth as things that we have to cultivate. No matter what you are struggling with, you have the capacity for an abundant, fruitful life. Check out some of the concerns I specialize in and how I approach them.

eating disorders
My approach to working with eating disorders is grounded in understanding the emotions, relationships, and experiences that may contribute to and sustain eating struggles. I take an emotion-focused, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic approach, meaning I believe our early experiences, past wounds, and the way we handle our emotions all play a powerful role in how we feel about ourselves and, in turn, how we relate to food and our bodies.
In our work together, we’ll explore these underlying feelings and patterns. I aim to create a safe space where you can connect with and process difficult emotions and trauma, helping you to understand how these might be linked to the challenges you’re facing with food and self-image. Together, we can identify new ways of coping and create a stronger, more compassionate connection to yourself that doesn’t rely on the eating disorder to manage overwhelming emotions or past hurts.
In addition, I bring a body liberation perspective, aligned with Health at Every Size (HAES) principles, which means we focus on respecting and caring for your body without pursuing weight loss as the primary goal. My approach also supports intuitive eating, which encourages listening to your body’s natural signals for hunger, fullness, and satisfaction, moving away from restrictive or controlling food behaviors. My goal is to help you cultivate a compassionate, trusting relationship with your body and food, so that you can experience greater freedom and well-being, irrespective of size or shape. This healing journey is about finding safety within yourself, honoring your body’s needs, and embracing a sense of worth that isn’t defined by appearance.
lgbtqia+ issues
I am committed to providing a space that is affirming, inclusive, and informed by the diverse experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach is rooted in respect, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental stance, and I have experience supporting clients across a range of identities, orientations, and relationship styles, including those who identify as asexual (ACE), engage in ethical non-monogamy (ENM), participate in kink, or are exploring or affirming their gender identity.
Together, we’ll create a safe space to discuss any experiences, challenges, or relational dynamics that impact your well-being. I recognize that issues surrounding identity, self-acceptance, and belonging can influence your mental health, especially in the context of trauma, discrimination, or societal stigma. My goal is to support you in exploring all aspects of yourself without fear of judgment. I’m here to honor and help you process the unique parts of your journey—whether it relates to your gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship structures, or personal values.
racialized trauma
My approach to working with racialized trauma is grounded in creating a compassionate, validating space where the unique impacts of racial identity, discrimination, and systemic oppression can be acknowledged and processed. I recognize that trauma related to racism can deeply impact a person’s sense of self, safety, and belonging, and that this trauma can be complex, layered, and tied to both personal and intergenerational experiences.
In our work together we can explore the emotions, memories, and patterns that arise from these painful experiences. I understand that racialized trauma can manifest in many ways, including anxiety, hypervigilance, self-doubt, and emotional exhaustion. Together, we’ll work to understand and process these impacts, while also nurturing a sense of resilience, self-compassion, and connection to cultural strengths.
In our work, I aim to provide a space that is free from judgment, where the nuances of your identity and experiences are honored. My goal is to help you feel empowered to reclaim your sense of agency, voice, and well-being, in a way that respects and validates all parts of who you are. My approach is not only trauma-informed but actively anti-racist, working to support healing that acknowledges and counters the effects of systemic and personal racial trauma.
